How to Dry Astragalus/Dehydrate Astragalus in a Dehydrator
Introduction to astragalus：
Astragalus is 50-100 cm high. The taproot is thick, woody, often branched, off-white. The stem is upright, the upper part is more branched, with fine ribs, and is white pilose.
Astragalus processing steps：
1. Net systemTake the original medicinal materials, pick out the impurities, remove the remaining roots and medicinal materials with larger hollows, divide them into different sizes, and wash them.
2. Soften
Take the astragalus and soak it in clean water for 2 to 4 hours, take it out, put it in the moisturizing box, operate it for 12-24 hours, spray 1-2 times every 3 hours, the amount of water sprayed at the tail should be small, and the thicker ones should be sprayed. The amount should be large, and often turn it over until the humidity inside and outside is the same, and the cut surface has no dryness. When it is qualified by the bending method, prepare for cutting.
3. Slicing
Use a rotary slicer to cut oblique slices or thick slices with a thickness of 2-4 mm.
Astragalus drying process：
Use the heat pump low-temperature drying method, the drying temperature should be 70°-80°C, and the thickness of the goods should not exceed 4 cm. After drying, sieve the medicine scraps, the total ash content should not exceed 4.5%, and the acid-intolerant ash content should not exceed 1.0%.
